Making a quote

The  tag

The tag highlights the quote in the text.

Quote To be or not to be says Hamlet

The browser automatically inserts quotes. If the
tag specifies a language, then the browser substitutes quotes depending on the language. The default quotes are for English.

If necessary, you can specify your quotes.

q:before {
    content: "\00ab";
}

q:after {
    content: "\00bb";
}

Example on JSFiddle

The  tag

The tag is used when you need to select the source (the name of the creative work).

Quote To be or not to be says Hamlet in the play Hamlet

Example on JSFiddle

The
tag

The
tag puts a quote on a separate line.

To be or not to be.

Play Hamlet
